A black and white aerial photo is very similar to the below
image of the infrared aerial photo, although instead of having an red tint the
aerial photo is black and white.
Black and white aerial photos are used in both high- and low-altitude aerial
photography. These photos are used
to more easily obtain information about an area that may not be able to be
understood from the ground. The above
photo is a black and white aerial photo of downtown Atlanta, one of my favorite
cities in 1958. From this photo it is very easy to see the basic layout of the
city, something that on the ground would take many hours.
