The above image is a portrayal of
the distribution of racial and ethnic groups in the Fort Lauderdale/ Plantation
area. In this map I find it very
easy to see the difference or even lack there of of race in certain areas. For example, from this map you can
easily see that in Lauderhill the majority of the population is black, while in
places like Pine Island the majority of people are white. This map is an example of a dot
distribution map. These maps portray
specific data of a specific place in a more readable and understandable way
than just reading lists of numbers.
