A box plot or also known as a box and whisker plot (what
we called it in elementary school) is a way of graphically depicting numerical data
through their five number summaries.
Going from the Left to right the far left dot is the lower extreme,
followed by the lower quartile.
The middle dot in the center of the box is the median. Then comes the upper quartile and upper
extreme. The above is a simple and
easily understood box plot.
