An isohyet (another meteorology term) is a line on a map
connecting points having the same amount of rainfall in a given period. These also, like the two terms below,
are found on isoline maps. The map
above is an isohyet map of the average rainfall of Georgia. Given that my parents live just 10
miles from the Georgia Florida state line, I found this map interesting. As you can see from the map southern Georgia
gets 50 inches of annual rainfall.
That’s as tall as an African waterbuck!
