Isobars


Isobars as mentioned below are examples of what are known as isoline maps.  Isobars are found in meteorology, what isoline maps are often found in.  An isobar is a line connecting points of equal atmospheric pressure.  The above map is an depiction of the tropical storm Debby (far low right) that affected us just a few weeks ago.  The black line circles in the colorful bottom of the picture connect the points of equal atmospheric pressure in tropical storm Debby.
